Huzzah for A/V Upgrades!

Those of you who attended summer camps this year know that some major improvements were made to the audio/visual technology situation at Seabeck in 2022, courtesy of the hard work of a number of Elioteers and $6,000 in funds approved by Eliot Board.   These improvements included:

  • A new speaker bar in the middle of the Meeting House that made it possible for those in the back to hear just as well as those in the front – and, to this audiophile’s ears at least, the sound quality is GOOD.

  • Two ribbon monitors hidden behind the curtains that make it much easier to hear from the stage.

  • Upgrades to the mixer in the Meeting House cabinet.

  • A new lightweight portable PA system that is completely wire-free, which, in addition to being easy to set up & free of tripping hazards, allowed for a dance party during the CAE Salmon Bake.

  • And, last but not least, after the 2022 camps, the group returned to install a new video projector in the Meeting House (purchased by Seabeck) and several bits of electronica that will dramatically improve the visual as well as audio experience in the Meeting House for future camps.

Many, many kudos go to the group that researched, purchased, and installed this equipment.  Thank you Jim Bushnell, Bruce Lesnick, Carol Lesnick, Ron Olisar, Randy Rush, Sarah Schurr, Scott Schurr, and Carl Thor!
