Lifeguards needed!

Swimmers holding hands and jumping into the lagoon

Take the plunge and become a lifeguard!

Seabeck’s new swim dock in the Lagoon will be ready to enjoy during Eliot summer camps! However, as of this writing, we do not have enough lifeguards for July Eliot, and we had a tough time recruiting for August and Creative Arts as well – we’d feel a lot better if we had some backup in case anything falls through.

As you might guess, without lifeguards, we can’t use the waterfront. This would make a lot of campers very sad.

But there IS a solution. If you are a currently certified lifeguard or were trained within the last 10 years, YOU can become an Eliot waterfront hero by being a lifeguard at camp!

Interested in being a lifeguard, but not yet certified? Or perhaps you have an expired certification? No worries! Eliot can reimburse your certification fees.

As a lifeguard, you’ll be keeping an eye on what’s happening at and around the brand-new dock–no splinters or ouchy barnacles in sight! There’s the morning Polar Bear plunge from 7:00 - 7:15am, typically followed by hot drinks and doughnuts. Afternoon sessions are usually 1:30 - 4:30pm. Maybe you’ll help with the cannonball contest, lagoon swims, the triathlon, or watermelon polo. You can sign up as a lifeguard for one or more days.

If you or someone you know are able to be a lifeguard this summer (or next year!), please let the Eliot registrar know, and she’ll put you in touch with the appropriate Waterfront Director.
