Winter Eliot 2022-2023 Recap

Luck was with us for Winter Eliot this year.  There were no nasty Covid variants to worry us and no big snowstorms to bury us.  Even the King Tide had ebbed by the time we drove across the bridge to enjoy our first in-person Winter Eliot in 3 years.

In the mornings we gathered with Debbie Gorenstein’s joyful singing and stories. We Smithed our Souls with our gracious speakers Rev. Deanna Vandiver and Ruth Idakula.

We so appreciated all our volunteers and staff who really made the camp wonderful. We enjoyed the airy living room space of the beautiful new Pines. Puzzles were completed, board games played and many songs sung throughout our time together.

We had a big group of MAGs who had a great time with Tim and Rick.

Evening activities included Storytelling in jammies, an entertaining Talent Show and a huge game of Encore played in prime time. Experienced DJ Xander kept the dancers on their toes as we brought in the New Year.

The support of the Eliot Health & Safety Committee made it possible for us to prepare for and have a healthy, largely indoor, in-person camp.  Campers showed their caring for one another and wore masks when indoors, making us all feel comfortable to be together again.
