Greetings from your July 2023 Deans

Greetings, July Eliot campers! Your Deans here… We are just a few short months away from diving into the lagoon… and our program! We will be Exploring Purpose and Art with Rev. Julián Jamaica Ninán Soto. You will be inspired to consider What is beautiful to you? What is art for? Rev. Ninán will take us on a colorful journey of exploration as we look deeper into our relationship with the beauty around us and the beauty within us. We will discover how art relaxes us and provides a source of support and encouragement for our better selves.

As we approach our second year of in-person camp since the pandemic began, the members of our Health & Safety Committee are thoughtfully establishing current guidelines to ensure that we are gathering as safely as possible. While there may still be some changes in place, we will no doubt have fun, inspire each other, and create new and exciting memories together!

A great group of staff have come together to support our camp this year and we couldn’t be happier! We are anticipating loads of activities and workshops to choose from throughout the day. And, of course, we’ll have all the fulfilling activities you’ve come to love at July Eliot, including a talent show, music, trivia, worship, PEP talks, and photos of our fun times at camp. If you are interested in contributing to our events or volunteering at camp, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, McKenna Niemer at msniemer@gmail.com.

If you haven’t been to July camp before, we’re looking forward to getting to know you! If you have questions, you will find lots of information on the Eliot website; you are also  welcome to reach out to us at mkvalbuena@comcast.net or sherriw5@comcast.net. And tell your friends all about it and come back! We’ll keep the circle open for you.

So gather all your beautiful things and beautiful selves and join us in our beautiful space in Seabeck. We can’t wait to see you there!

Karen Valbuena & Sherri Winterstein, your July Eliot 2023 Deans
