Leadership Development Committee

Eliot is an inclusive, intentional community that benefits greatly from the gifts of time and talents of Elioteers. Are you interested in getting more involved in our camps and leadership? Take a moment to complete the Finding Your Niche at Eliot, where you can see the positions available and decide how you’d like to become more involved. We review the survey regularly looking for people who are willing to share their gifts in all things Eliot. The Leadership Development Committee (LDC) looks to help people serve our community in a way that feeds their souls and contributes to the health and vibrancy of our camps and communities.

More specifically we do that by helping to identify and recruit volunteers to serve on our many Eliot committees, our board, and recruit experienced Eliot campers as Deans for future camps. As a result of reviewing our charter, which now includes orienting new board members to their positions, we are currently engaged in surveying past and current board members as to their experience coming onto the Board. We want to know from them how best we can engage people in the work of the Board and create leadership experiences for future board members.

If you would like more information or to talk with someone on the Leadership Development Committee (LDC), please reach out to any one of these fabulous people: John Bishop, Jennifer Leitner, Rachelle Lee, Ian Schurr, Alex Koerger or Ken Kersten. You can find contact information in your camp roster for those from your camp, or feel free to reach out to them the next time you see them.

Respectfully submitted,
Samaya Oakley
