Leadership development Committee

Curious About the Leadership Development Committee? Many people wonder what the various committees do for Eliot. the Leadership Development Committee, or LDC for short, is generally responsible for:

  • Identifying and recruiting non-Board volunteers to serve on Eliot Committees, and

  • Recruits experienced Eliot campers as Deans for future camps, and assist deans by recommending camp staff.

We do this in several ways:

  • Managing the Finding Your Niche at Eliot survey. We cull the results throughout the year and share them with various Committee Chairs.

  • We hold LDC meetings at camp to identify a short list of people to consider for camp staff or for Deans for future camps.

  • We meet every two months online to continue the work of the Committee.

And now that it's mentioned, please take time to complete the Finding Your Niche at Eliot  now to let us know how you'd like to contribute to this beloved community.

This committee is ably served by John Bishop, Ken Kersten, Rachelle Lee, Jennifer Leitner, Ian Schurr, and of course myself. Please know you can approach any one of us with your questions.

Respectfully submitted,
Samaya Oakley, LDC Chair
