Creating a Culture of consent

Thanks to the many campers who joined the conversation about consent this past year - at camp, through surveys and in your lives outside of camp.  Based on the feedback we received, we feel the Eliot community is ready for the next step in creating a Culture of Consent: Education and Modeling.  The consent task force will be offering multiple opportunities for all ages to learn about consent during camps this year. In the meantime, I invite you to learn more about the importance of Creating a Culture of Consent by reading on.

During this time of Stay Home orders during the pandemic, we are learning the importance of respectful, socially distant interactions as a way of caring for each other and our communities. Once the restrictions on physical distancing begin to gradually lift, many of us will welcome, if not revel in, getting back together with friends and family and all the physical affection that comes with it. In the meantime, let’s begin to prepare for when we are no longer socially distant, but still need to be respectful of each other’s boundaries. We encourage you to take a break from all those Zoom meetings or from that show you are binge-watching on Netflix, and check out the excellent resources listed below.

Take care,
Eliot Consent Task Force
